SOMMELIER CONSULTING
Koolspace Wine Cellars is now offering a wide variety of professional cellar management services. We understand the difficulties associated with stocking and maintaining a wine cellar; as well as the time required to do so. This can easily be resolved by allowing our Sommelier to stock your cellar, organize your wines, and install wine software if you so require. From the creation of an excel spreadsheet to cellar tracking software, a database of your collection can be established customized to your needs.Additionally, barcode scanners and printers can be interfaced with software to create unique barcodes for each bottle of wine; allowing you to maintain a precise inventory.
Our Sommelier can also assist with new purchases to add to your collection, make periodic visits to update your inventory and ultimately, provide long term customer service for all your wine needs. CONSULTATION Starting the process of managing your cellar is very simple. The most effective way to begin is to contact our Sommelier to provide your details and determine our level of involvement; this could possibly require an on-site estimate. Regardless of the size of your project, our Sommelier can provide services ranging from purchasing to placement in a cellar and/or installing software you can input independantly. Please see the contact information below.
If you are interested in starting a collection, but would like to learn more about what to buy or even what you should drink based on your palate, our Sommelier can help. Set up an appointment to have a wine tasting conducted in your home or informally in our showroom. You will then be better equipped to start purchasing your dream collection (or at the very least a few special bottles to put away!). Fees will vary for all of these services, please contact us directly at 403-283-7575 or send an email by clicking contact us.
APPRAISAL For the avid collector, it is vital to catalogue and organize your inventory to ensure the appropriate drinking window of your wines are not missed. It is always extremely disappointing to discover wine(s) forgotten in a cellar and when opened are sadly past its/their prime. Another consideration is of insurance; the more you have invested in your cellar, the greater the need to have detailed records in case of damage/theft. Of more importance for investment collectors intent on eventually selling wines at auction would be: detailed records of purchase; proof of storage and current value of a collection. As wines appreciate in price-whether due to maturity and/or solely based on rarity- this should be accounted for in assessing the value. CUSTOM TASTINGS Our Sommelier can organize tastings in your home for a small group of people based on a wide variety of subjects or solely just to teach you how to taste wine. Please contact our Sommelier for more information.
